My Story

I have worked in the community services sector since 2008 where I began my working journey in Industrial relations and the union movement. It was from this space that I gained an understanding of how adverse work place issues can affect every day life and individuals mental health. Whilst working in this field I completed my Bachelor of Social Work and Bachelor of Social Planning. I then moved onto working in various organisations, working with children and young people in the child protection system, working with refugee and migrant families who were either newly arrived or long term migrants, and many other services in between! Some of the sectors I have worked in since gaining my Bachelors Degrees are:

-Industrial relations

-Migrant and refugee health services;

-Child protection;

-Local government and Councils;

-Non-government organisations;

- Adult and refugee mental health sector;

-Youth mental health;

-and Private Enterprise.

I moved into in mental health in 2017 and have worked as a private clinician specialising in trauma informed practice and youth mental health since then. I am deeply grateful to the people who have chosen to share their mental health journey with me. Their bravery to go on the journey fills my heart with awe and inspiration. I am humbled by my job as a Mental Health Social Worker.

Other than the love for my work, I love cats, gardening, cups of tea and hanging out with my family and friends.

I would like to pay my deepest respect to all the Aboriginal and Torrens Strait Islander people who are the Traditional Custodians and Elders of this nation. I honour and value the continuation of their cultural, spiritual and educational practices.

I would like to also recognise Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples battle for human rights and recognition since occupation, and the generational trauma that has been created as a result.

I would also like to acknowledge that sovereignty was never ceded.
